Why the prep matters
A coating over swirls just makes the swirls shiny.
A ceramic locks in whatever is underneath it for years. That's why every Chauvel's coating starts with full decontamination — iron fallout, tar, clay bar — and a Stage 1 machine correction to take the swirls out before anything gets sealed. Panels are then wiped down and prepped so the coating actually bonds.

Deep wheel clean, iron fallout and tar removal, then a clay bar to lift everything bonded to the paint.
Correct
Stage 1 machine correction to take out swirls and bring back colour, clarity and gloss. Included as standard.
Coat & cure
Panels prepped, ceramic hand-applied, then cured overnight in the unit — not rushed on a driveway.

The questions we get asked most
Why does a coating cost more than a wax?
A wax sits on top and lasts weeks. A coating is a hard, chemically-resistant layer bonded to prepped, corrected paint and lasts years. Most of the cost is the decontamination and Stage 1 correction that has to happen before a single drop goes on.
What does £500 work out at per month?
Over a 7 year coating, around £6 a month. Less than two hand washes.
How long is the car with you?
24 hours from drop-off. It's coated during the day and cures overnight in the unit, then you collect. Booking lead time is usually around two weeks.
Does it stop scratches and stone chips?
No — that's PPF (paint protection film). A ceramic coating adds hardness and chemical resistance, makes the paint far easier to clean and keeps it looking factory-fresh. It isn't armour plating.
Do you come to me or do I come to you?
Coatings are done at the unit on Brynmenyn Industrial Estate, Bridgend — they need controlled conditions and an overnight cure. Mobile is for full details and maintenance only.
What happens after it's coated?
We recommend a check-in every 6–12 months, and there's a maintenance plan that keeps the coating performing. Stay on it and if the coating doesn't last its stated lifespan, we re-do it.
